Installations

CAN Triennial seeks inspired and transformative proposals for site specific installations in and around the 78th Street Studios complex. Artists are encouraged to visit specific sites they are considering to make themselves as familiar as possible with the location, its possibilities, and its sight lines. Deadline: EXTENDED to February 14, 2018

Site A

MAIN STAIRWELL, 11’-7” x 22’-0”

General guidelines:

  • Artwork cannot obstruct sprinkler heads, exit signage or egress.
  • Materials should not be dangerous or excessively fragile.
  • Installation arrangements will be made with each individual artist and location by mutual agreement.
  • Anchors can be installed into the ceiling.

Space available is above the red wall. It has a plexi top that will allow the space to be lit from below.

  • Vantage points from W 78th Street and limited viewing from inside HEDGE Gallery. Visitors will not have access onto roof.
